NEW YORK, NY - TV Pro Gear, a leading systems integration and mobile solutions provider for the broadcast, production, and post industries, recently relocated and upgraded the post-production facility of MultiVu, a PR Newswire company providing broadcast and multimedia production and global distribution services to various organizations.
The project involved decommissioning a complete machine room and several edit rooms then relocating the equipment to MultiVu’s new Manhattan studio. Once there, TV Pro Gear integrated the equipment into the new facility based on plans for an improved workflow with a new layout and engineering drawings.
The design for the new workflow came from a detailed study of MultiVu’s current layout. TV Pro Gear’s engineering team used the knowledge gleaned from this study as well as extensive interviews with MultiVu’s team to develop a solution that will improve the efficiency of the PR Company’s post-production workflow.
“With any workflow there’s always room for improvement,” said Chandos Mahon, Jr., Senior Vice President of TV Pro Gear, “We worked hard to develop a layout in MultiVu’s new facility that vastly improved the company’s efficiency while utilizing their current gear and staying within budget.”
In addition to the relocation and reintegration of MultiVu’s existing equipment, TV Pro Gear worked with the company to select new equipment in order to further improve its workflow. The centerpiece of this new equipment is a Sierra Video Lassen Router that supports 32x32 HD/SD SDI, 16x16 Component, 32x32 Composite, and 32x32 Analog Audio with a Harris X75 up/down cross converter.
“We think the Sierra Lassen Router is an excellent choice for MultiVu,” said Mahon, “It is an essential piece in achieving our goal of a highly efficient workflow with a cost-effective router.”
Other new gear used in the integration of the new facility included a Panasonic AJ-HD1400 DVCPro100 HD VTR and several JVC DT-V24L3DU HD / SD SDI LCD monitors for the edit suites.
TV Pro Gear’s dedication to MultiVu did not end with the completion of the facility move and upgrade. They will continue to provide support and service to their installation using the company’s unique web portal to address any problems that may arise.
“We’re very excited to provide this level of support to MultiVu,” said Mahon, “It’s important that our clients know we stand behind each installation, and our web portal allows them instant access to our exceptional service.”
