iClips, a web-streaming video company needed a solution that would allow them to cover the various live events they feature on their site. This would require a compact mobile production system that would allow them to keep up with several dates across the country.
They found the FLYPAK™ to be the perfect solution for their needs. It is a Mobile HD Studio in a box that can fit through a standard door and be transported in the back of a large van. The portable production studio’s small footprint allows it to fit some of the tightest spaces and still function with the same power as would a larger mobile solution like a production truck or van.
iClips was so impressed with its capabilities that they purchased two FLYPAK™s to handle the increasing number of live events they cover. Their first use of the FLYPAK™ was in covering an evening with ‘Twilight’ author Stephanie Meyer at UCLA for streaming on their website. The event was a great success and iClips looks forward to producing web streams with the FLYPAK™.
TV Pro Gear built the pair of FLYPAK™s around Panasonic Professional Production Equipment. This included a trio of Panasonic AG-HPX500 HD Cameras and a Panasonic AV-HS400N Switcher. iClips can record the action on the built-in Panasonic AJ-HD1400 DVCPro100 Recorder for High Definition video or the Panasonic AJ-SD93 DVCPRO50/25 Recorder for Standard Definition. These options provide great flexibility for both iClips and its users.
After these mobile production studios were complete, TV Pro Gear’s staff took iClips through an intensive two-day training course to ensure they’d be ready to cover Meyer’s concert at UCLA. Their crew left the training ready for that production and any other challenges they may face on the road.
As iClips continues to grow and its schedule becomes more daunting, its new pair of FLYPAK™s is certain to increase the efficiency and quality of the videos it produces for the web.
