Glendale, CA – January 28, 2008 – TV Pro Gear, Inc., a leading systems integration and mobile solutions provider for the broadcast, production, and post industries, announced today that it is now an exclusive Los Angeles area authorized representative for JVC Professional’s ProHD Libre wireless HD system.
The LIBRE coupled with the JVC GY-HD200 or GY-HD250 camera becomes a Full HD microwave equipped camera system that, for the first time, brings affordable HD microwave capabilities to the ENG/EFP market.
The ProHD LIBRE system provides native 60P HD capture, recording and transmission through a compact, on board camera-back transmitter developed for JVC by Broadcast Microwave Services, Inc. (BMS). By migrating to a microwave transmission system, ENG crews have the mobility and freedom to report live without the typical problems associated with cable in the field. The ability to get to a remote location, set up and transmit within minutes, without laying down cumbersome cables or performing a previous days site survey makes the LIBRE System coupled together with the GY-HD200 / 250 camera an affordable solution for broadcast customers.
Libre is targeted primarily for the broadcasters. However, many independent producers and production houses in need of an affordable wireless system can utilize Libre’s capabilities.
This is a significant development in that the price point for entry level wireless system has been significantly lowered. A fully equipped system including microwave transmitter and receiver can be configured for less than $30,000.
